This energetic salon’s new expansion focused on extensive collaborations with the owner and staff developed the special union of an effective and comfortable workplace and a space where clients crave to be a part of. By overcoming obstacles such as stylist station circulation, retail sales, appropriate lighting and noise pollution within the new, larger space the outcome was a home run. An overwhelming amount of south light floods the work area. Layered window sheers filter the sun while protecting ambient light while pendants and wall sconces layer in task lighting at each station. Plants add a biophilic element; bringing the calm of nature indoors while simultaneously cleaning the air from environmental salon scents. Placing retail products within stylist’s reach supports client education, small business retail sales reduces and product shrinkage. Anchoring a guest lounge full of curated, eclectic art, vintage vibe furnishings and a well-stocked refreshment bar keeps clients satiated during their wait times. Eccentric and unusual visual conversation starters reiterate the authentic and lively vibe of all who work here.
